Billie Dean’s Awakening to Animals Question and Answers

For those of you that attended the conference you will remember that we sadly weren’t able to connect with Billie to share our questions with her, following her wonderful and very thought provoking video presentation.  So we asked you to write down your questions and we collected them all in and sent them over to Billie.  So  here are Billie’s responses!

“Thank you all for so many wonderful questions.  I wish I had been able to discuss and debate with you in person, but please feel free to engage with me on Facebook and also through my e-newsletter on www.billiedean.com

Question: We agree with all your wise words – would like to recommend a book to you “30 Minute Vegan” by Mark Reinfeld. A totally fab book.

Answer: Thank you!!  I’ll check it out!

Question: How do we/can you explain cruelty between animals?  E.g. killer whales toying with seals before they kill them?  wasps laying eggs in live caterpillars to be eaten alive – many other examples of apparent cruelty – especially amongst predators?

Answer: First up, one has to understand life from an esoteric viewpoint. When homo sapien violence is the dominating thought and action, the collective consciousness becomes one of violence.  When it is is one of peace and compassion, even the animals we think of as predators, will shift their behaviour.  This is why it is important to refrain from killing and violence.  This is what the shift of consciousness to an age of peace is about.

QuestionDeep peace for all species so that we humans stop eating animal species killed in fear, OK.  But what about the vegetable species eaten and killed in fear?  How is it different to rip out a carrot or radish from the ground and its roots and eat it?  Or to cut the head of a lettuce from its root?  Or to pick an unripened fruit from its branch and eat it?  How is that different from cutting the head off a duck and eating it?  Daniel.

Answer: My experience is that this is a question that usually comes from meat-eaters who just want to stir the pot and muddy the water!  It is a defensive reaction to a peaceful path.

There were several similar questions so I am going to answer them all right now with one simple paragraph.

I made my presentation to a conference called Awakening to Animals.  If people are really interested in the plant kingdom’s response to these questions then I will point you to my book The Deep Peace Project which does indeed, cover this in depth. It will be out in May, 2012.  www.billiedean.com

Question: 12 miles from where I live their is an abattoir where I believe 7000 pigs are killed every day.  Lorries taking pigs there pass my bungalow – I say to the pigs you’ll go to a better place and I pray to the Divine Creator please accept and help these beings.  Do you have any messages I can send to them?  Amelia says animals do go to places of joy.  Annabel

Answer: Actually Annabel, this is a wonderful question you have brought up and something I go into great detail in my school Rainbow Fianna where students are helped to become comfortable with the death process, and journey to discover the path beyond death.

One of the greatest things you can do for those pigs is to help raise awareness that they are sentient beings and to encourage people to stop eating them.  You can bless them, and pray for them.  You can tell them you have great love for them.  Love is a very powerful force. Tell them you are actively trying to help change life for their species and that you care deeply about their plight.

But you have to know that pigs are a very intelligent species and it doesn’t take much to put ourselves in their shoes.  Esoteric teachings teach that the density around slaughterhouses creates what we call a “wall of suffering”, as the thought forms of fear and horror go out into the world.  This “wall” in turn creates anxiety and depression in humans. I talk about this in my book “Secret Animal Business”.

Sadly it is also my experience that millions of souls who die before their time and in conditions like this are wandering the earth, earth bound.  It is my part of my own work to release as many to the light as possible and I do this in ceremony. Human souls are the same.  So I’m afraid many animals do not go to a place of joy.  The best death is a natural one, where souls are at peace and free to leave their bodies through the higher chakras.

After death, there are places of great joy – but it depends on the individual soul and their experience of life and the way they died. Many souls end up caught in what are commonly known as the bardo planes.

The shamanic viewpoint is that there is an animal plane. However many shamanic cultures also believe in the transmigration of souls, which has been my personal experience as well.  So the pig going to the abbatoir might have, in one life time, been a friend or a relative.  You just don’t know till you ask.

Question: More females are open to your ideas.  I find men very difficult to get through any of these ideas.  Classed as silly female sentimentality.  Any ideas on how to get through to the male mind?!!

Answer: Another great question, thank you.

Speaking very, very generally and with great apologies to the many men, including my husband Andrew, who are awake and sensitive, here is my answer:

The Divine Feminine which is inside both sexes, has been suppressed by the Church and this goes way back to our Origin story.  Adam and Eve.  Eve was naughty and humans punished because of this evil woman, to a life of suffering. I know this is the abridged version but the point is – it is just one version of our Origin and it is one in which women are painted in a bad light.  Look at any indigenous Origin story and you will find a different one.

According to indigenous prophecy and channeled wisdom, the Divine Feminine is rising again in all of us now.  It is up to the women in whom this is flowering to be a shining light. When you are strong in your light and your wild, creative, instinctive nature, it will trigger the same in men.  You will either have lots of fights, or you will have an incredible partner who you can stand beside, strong together.

So, work on your self and be strong.  Continue to walk the talk, not just talk it.  Be all you can be – a creative goddess!!  You will find yourself surrounded by like-minded souls.  The close-minded will fall away from your circle. If someone is stuck in their belief system, nothing you can say or do will convince them – unless perhaps you take them to an abbatoir.  In Australia, people are waking up in huge numbers because one brave woman from Animals Australia, filmed the cruel demise of Australian cattle in Indonesia.  Live export is now under fire and many Australian men, have been touched by this atrocity.  Change is happening.

The other thing you can do is ask them why they don’t want to stand side by side great thought leaders like Ghandi, Pythagorus, Einstein, Shaw and so many other men who stood for animal rights.  If they think these men are “sentimental”, then it shows you who they really are.  Truly, walk your talk and be a shining example of compassion.  Others around you will one day awaken.

QuestionPlease may we have a transcript of your final message as we couldn’t hear it due to the sound quality of that part?  Thanks Rosemary.

Answer: Thank you for wanting this again.  This is the end of my talk.  It is copyrighted, so please acknowledge this.

“I believe that within every single human being is a seed – a kernal of love and goodness, kindness and compassion, of knowing what the right thing to do is, and that the human spirit is yearning to find peace on all levels and in every cell.

I believe that one of the reasons animals touch our hearts so deeply is that they embody the very qualities that we know are buried deep within us.  The qualities that have been shrunk and frozen through and by fear.

This year is the year of Neptune in Pisces, it is the year of the Water Dragon.  The illusion of fear and suffering will be destroyed if we allow the rain and the water of this time, to melt this block and allow our seeds to grow into beautiful flowers.

When human beings have the courage to step away from their old karma, and to forgive others and bless them, and to focus ,not on the old world of despair, but the new world of peace for all species, we will live in a world of beauty and grace.  For all species.”  Billie Dean.

Question: Is it wrong, in your opinion, for other animals to kill other animals?  I find it hard to understand why it would be wrong, as this is nature’s circle of life, interdependency on others to support and nurture life.  I totally agree about stopping the cruel methods of keeping and killing animals that humanity has adopted but I feel that the eating of animals and vegetables/fruit is a part of the circle of life. If we were to stop eating all sentient life, we would starve to death.  For me death is not a dirty word, or something we can avoid, it is inevitable and is an essential part of the physical experience. Dying surrounded with love and compassion is surely what we aspire to?   Is it truth that any being could die without an element of fear, as pain is often a part of death and we also have fear of the unknown, at least in humans.  If you watch an animal being brought down to be killed and eaten by another, they are deeply fearful too in those moments before death.  If we die of what we label “natural causes” is there not still fear in most?  Is fear itself something we will ever be able to move away from in the moments before the transition to death?

Answer: Another good question – several questions!  But  framed from a particular viewpoint which is not my truth.  I have watched many animals die naturally and peacefully with full acceptance.  They meet the light and there are always members of their family and friends to meet them. Many animals know when their time is coming and I will see them exchanging thoughts with others, as well as others I cannot see.  It is truly beautiful, and they are not afraid.  They are matter of fact.  But then these are the ones being held with hands of love.

As to the questions about death and survival and eating, this is a huge topic and I suggest you study with Rainbow Fianna, if you are a serious student.  The only reason we have the model of killing to survive is because most people are stuck in the mindset that this has to be so.  And so it is.  When you truly awaken to an enlightened path you will see and understand the other choices which are embracing of all species.  Again, see my forthcoming book, due out in May.

This world is truly an illusion created by our thoughts and our words, actions and deeds.  We can change this world to something far more beautiful and graceful if people just have the courage to dream beyond what is already around them, to something far, far better.”

Thank you so much for your responses Billie, we are in the process also of editing and preparing a DVD of the conference and will be able to add the final cut of Billie’s presentation film into this, so thanks to both Billie and her husband Andrew for all the hard work they put into making this film.  We are very much looking forward to reading your soon to be published book The Deep Peace Project, out in May.

If you have further questions or comments for Billie you can also post them onto our Facebook page Awakening to Animals.

Blessings and love,
